Good things are coming to Pass! June 27, 2016

Howdy Y'all!!

Man I think the accent is really gettin' to me. People keep catching me sounding like a Texan.

I hope it wears off before I return home.
But things are going great. There is still lots to do here in Childress and we still have those Baptismal Dates coming up. We won't get to see one of our investigators for 3 weeks because she will be out of town but we will still keep in contact with her and she bore her testimony in church yesterday!
It was so awesome:)
She went to girls camp so all the Young Women bore their testimonies! And at the end she said, "I know this church is true." It was powerful:) So we are excited for her when her family gets back.

And one of our investigators is doing great but he is trying to make time for his reading and praying. He wants to receive that witness from the spirit that it is true he is just having a hard time because all of his friends and family are baptist. They really discourage him but he is still so strong. He knows its true:)
Also our other Investigators with the Baptismal date for the 10th of July has cancer and she is sick from all of the medications she has. Man satan is real. She is trying so hard to come to church and meet with us. She is the sweetest and she knows for a fact that she needs to be baptized. We are helping her with understanding all the lessons and to read and pray about the Book of Mormon:) She knows it is true. It is just amazing how the spirit truly works in people.  Once you receive that witness. You never want to go back. You just know.

We have many areas and people we need to go see in them but we don't have enough miles. So just pray we will find awesome members who are willing to take us to them. Which they are pretty awesome in getting us there.
We have an amazing Branch and I love sister Carter!! She is so awesome and we get a long so well:) We are going to do good, hard work here and be very Diligent! That is our Goals!

Also one of our other Investigators is having a hard time with the Whole Priesthood and Prophets. We explained it to her and it made more sense but it just truly makes sense:) The need for prophets and apostles are so needed! Especially in our day today! If we didn't receive that revelation from our Prophets we would be so lost! Like many people in our day today! Proverbs 29:18

I know that Thomas S. Monson is our true Prophet on the earth today and I know that he is led by God. He receives revelation for all of Gods children so that we won't be Lost Sheep. I know that God loves us and I know that our Prophet loves us:)
Have an amazing week! I wont be emailing next week because of 4th of July. Oh and in Zone Training tomorrow I am playing the piano.....I don't play the piano. The Spirit is going to have to guide me:) I told them I don't play well at all and they said I am already on the paper. Please pray for me.

Happy Father's Day Yesterday 6-19-16

How was everyone's fathers day?? Hope it was swell!
We are fixin' to die here in Childress because it gets up in the triple digits! Its so Hot!

Well my best friend companion just got transferred to San Angelo:/ I am super sad. But Sister Carter is coming in and I kind of know her. She is pretty cool:) We are having a lot of success so I hope she is a hard worker and ready to get right to work because there is no time to waste!

We have 3 Baptismal dates with our investigators in Quanah! Cristy, Calvin, and Skylar. They are literally the bomb! I can't wait to share their stories!

And we still have lots of success here in childress! Hope everything is going well with y'all!

Gettin Hot! Happy Fathers Day on Sunday! 6/13/2016

So sorry that this is short:/ But We are doing great!
We have tons of work to do!

We had a great Lesson yesterday with one of our awesome Investigators who comes to church every week. She feels like she doesn't have family but she feels as though we are her Family:) We are All Family in Christ. We invited her to become a member of Christ's family and be baptized and she said she will pray about it. Texans are stubborn like that. But she knows she will receive her answer that it is true. She adores the book of Mormon! Just depends on if she is going to be willing and humble enough to change. I believe she will be!! Please pray for her:)

Also our other investigator, Skyler, is getting baptized in July and she is very excited! Pray that her family will support her decision:) She is awesome and attends church every week!

"Each one of you is living a life filled with much to do. I plead with you not to let the important things in life pass you by, planning instead for that illusive and nonexistent future day when you'll have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the Journey- NOW!" - Thomas S Monson
Alma 27:18

I love you all and find joy in this amazing Journey that we are on!!

It is HOT HOT HOT! June 6, 2016

So sister Hobbs and I love to bike and walk everywhere! Today we actually didn't get to run this morning so we decided to go after we do our laundry. Ya bad idea..... we were dying from the Heat! We stopped at a members to get some water and cool down and then ran the rest of our run. It was crazy. Heat+Humidity= ðŸ˜µ
We have had a very successful week. We have a baptismal date for one of our investigators for this month. And she is awesome. She is the only one in her family interested and she is 14 years old. Pray that she will continue to be that example and have that family support:)
She is doing great!
We do a lot around the community! We go up to Quanah twice a week because most of our investigators are up there and they are awesome! We have like 6 more potential baptisms. Ya I know. Miracles are happening. We have this really fun job at the Hospital where we make a survey call to those who had something done and we check-up and follow-up on them. It is the funnest thing in the world and the people just love us there. People in Quanah used to hate mormons but now if anyone says anything bad about us they get in trouble with everyone backing us up. It is so awesome:)
In every area i have been in, So many people rely on us at food banks, thrift shops, hospitals, ect. Because they can definitely tell a difference when we aren't there. We bring the power of God with us to get the job done joyfully:) We bring that special light. ðŸ˜‡
We seriously just go, go, go. We love it! and Sister Hobbs and I are both giving a little spiel at district meeting. (Wish us luck:) Sister Hobbs is speaking on Faith and I am speaking on Patience. Which being 13 months out on a mission is have learned a lot of! And still continue to learn. But it is a lot easier with the most awesome companion ever! We have the same exact mind like no joke. We don't even have to ask each other stuff because we already know what the other is thinking. We laugh so much too:) That is key to missionary work because if you don't, you'll just go all crazy.

"PATIENCE is the ability to do Gods will and accept his timing." "Its related to hope and Faith- you must wait for the Lords promised blessings to be fulfilled." Mosiah 24:13-16 (Preach my Gospel)

I know that this church is true. The standards that we have make us who we are and help us to become better children of God. These standards come from our Heavenly Father. Show the Love of Christ to others this week! Because that will soften their hearts to want to learn more about what makes you that way which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank y'all for everything you do!
Ten Cuidado! Estamos hablando con muchas personas en espanol! Y investigadores potentiales! Nos Espera suerte!

Love you all!

Hermana Russell

Bought this picture from the Thrift shop! Cool huh? Its been sitting there for ever so i just bought it for a buck. It is so cute in our little house:)

We had hard core rain! The roads were flooded! That didnt stop the Gospel from being spread so our neighbors (who adore us) gave us garbage bags to walk through the rivers ahah!
